H&M is increasing its presence at the Grafton Cambridge by 60% to 28,570 sq ft as it announces plans to take over the ground floor of the neighbouring, former BHS unit.

The Swedish fashion brand will be joined by affordable gym membership brand PureGym, which will open a fitness club on the second floor of the former BHS unit.

The move will allow H&M to introduce its H&M Home concept for the first time in Cambridgeshire. The store fit out will take place in two phases, with the first including the move of the brand’s menswear, womenswear and kidswear into the vacant unit. Following a refurbishment of the existing unit, the 3,230 sq ft H&M Home concept department will open later this year.

Owned by LGIM Real Assets and asset managed by Wrenbridge, the shopping centre has recently received an additional £10 million of investment for its revamp. The increased investment figure will go towards the introduction of the new food quarter, complementing the existing food and leisure tenants and the Vue cinema.

The Grafton is visited by 9.5 million people a year and has an affluent and growing catchment with 20% more people in the most prosperous ACORN categories compared with the national average. There are over 30,000 students in the city, plus some 12,000 office workers within a 10-minute walk of The Grafton, adding to the diversity of the customer base.
