Spreading across 1,618 sq mt of selling space, the store will carry the brand’s fashion-forward ladieswear, menswear, kidswear and Divided collections.

The Cyfarthfa Retail Park has embarked on a £30 million transformation to add 150,000 sq ft to its retail space. When completed, the area will become the premier shopping fashion destination in the South Wales Valleys.

H&M Country Manager Carlos Duarte recently commented: “We are delighted to be opening in the town of Merthyr Tydfil, making Cyfarthfa the seventh store in our Welsh portfolio. After the success of our St. David’s Centre store in Cardiff, opening in Cyfarthfa Retail Park offers us a very exciting opportunity to expand our brand.”

Founded in Sweden in 1947, H&M opened its first UK store in 1976. Forty years later, the UK and Ireland portfolio has grown to include in excess of 260 stores.

The Merthyr Tydfil store opens on 29 September.
