Guess has moved into the fast lane in Europe by announcing 55 new monobrand stores in 2014. "The plan includes the opening of 30 stores under direct management, particularly in Poland, Spain, France and Germany, and 25 franchised stores primarily in Russia and Eastern Europe. Since January, we have opened about 15 stores," says the brand. In Milan, in particular, the Guess flagship recently reopened on the major shopping street Corso Buenos Aires, on the corner of Via Melzo.

"This is an important signal of the company’s desire to consolidate the brand in Europe. This is one of our principal stores, a fundamental element in the company and brand’s business policy, an iconic place representing the values and image of Guess," the label said in a statement.

At 4,300 square feet spread over two levels, the space stocks all brand collections, from clothing to accessories for men, women and children, by Guess to the more sophisticated Marciano line.

In 2013, the American group achieved a turnover of 1.89 billion euros, down 3% compared to the previous year. In Europe, sales of Guess fell 4% to 657 million euros. The company’s stores total 1,708 in more than 90 countries, including 627 stores in Europe and the Middle East.
