Gieves & Hawkes, UGG and Present to open at Hackney Walk

Published

Hackney Walk is poised to become the luxury fashion destination of East London. The new fashion outlet district, home to Burberry, Aquascutum and Bally, has announced a string of new signings, including brands such as UGG, luxury Savile Row menswear label Gieves & Hawkes and luxury cashmere brand Colombo.

Joining the exciting mix of brands are also menswear brand and innovative concept store Present, as well as accessories label Folli Follie.

All five of the brands will open a shop within the shopping district, with units varying from 1,500 to 1,800 sq ft. They join other recent signings including Matchesfashion.com, iconic design boutique Joseph and Nike.

The stores will be located in the newly renovated Victorian railway arches, which have been turned into twelve retail spaces. The architectural palette throughout incorporates exposed bricks, bronze metal works, glass and polished steel.

Jack Basrawy, Executive Chairman and Founder of Hackney Walk, said: “I believe that Hackney Walk will play a major role in the continued innovation and growth of the UK’s fashion retail industry.  We are delighted that UGG, Gieves & Hawkes, Colombo, Folli Follie and Present will be joining MATCHESFASHION.COM and Joseph in Hackney Walk’s renovated railway arches. It is also an honour to have Nike open providing another great store for the community.”

The urban regeneration scheme is developed by Hackney Walk Holdings and ICG-Longbow, and supported by Hackney Council, Network Rail, the Mayor of London and the Greater London Authority.

The project aims to support the local community by providing retail jobs and offering pop-up spaces to pioneering fashion, food and creative entrepreneurs.

Hackney Walk will also host a Designer in Residence programme in the Fashion Bunker. For 2016, the designer selected to use the free commercial space is Ashley Williams.
