The Galeries Lafayette group has emphasized its engagement in favour of ethical and responsible retail trade. After unveiling an ethical fashion and home decoration collection last April created in partnership with the Care NGO, the French department store has now launched Fashion Integrity, an eco-responsible fashion collection.

An outfit from the Fashion Integrity collection.

The collection issued from an innovation challenge which involved the group's employees. It is part of the Galeries Lafayette's own-label range, and will feature five women's apparel essentials: v-neck and crew-neck t-shirts, funnel neck t-shirts, skirts and loose tops.

For this first collection, the Galeries Lafayette has chosen to focus specifically on the cotton industry. Each of the products will therefore comply with stringent ethical criteria, both with regards to the men and women who manufacture them, and with regards to the environment.

To support this approach, the items included in the Fashion Integrity collection will feature labels which summarise the various production stages.

Consumers will also be able to learn further details about each of these stages, by either scanning the QR code featured on the labels, or by accessing the Galeries Lafayette website under 'Fashion Integrity'.

This collection's launch is part of a global approach adopted by the Galeries Lafayette. The department store wishes in fact to become a worldwide benchmark for French-style retail trade, both ethical and responsible.

The Fashion Integrity collection will be on sale from 24th August in 60 Galeries Lafayette stores and at BHV Marais in Paris. Retail prices range from €22 to €44.
