New York-based G-III Apparel Group, Inc. and Marchon Eyewear, Inc. announced on Monday that they have signed a global licensing agreement for DKNY and Donna Karan New York eyewear set to launch next spring.

The long-term exclusive license covers both sunglasses and optical eyewear. Marchon’s first line under the new deal will roll out in March 2019 and will be a DKNY eyewear collection channeling the brand’s modern sportswear aesthetic. Donna Karan New York lines are slated to follow shortly thereafter.

Technically, these will not be Marchon’s first collections for DKNY and Donna Karan New York as the eyewear manufacturer previously held licenses for the two brands from 1999 through 2004. Other brands in its varied license portfolio include Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg, Longchamp and Nike.

“Marchon Eyewear's innovative designs, strong brand portfolio, and global distribution capabilities are a testament to their leadership in this market,” said Jeffrey Goldfarb, executive vice president of G-III Apparel Group, in a release. “Our partnership with Marchon Eyewear is a great example of our ongoing strategy to maximize the worldwide reach of our iconic lifestyle brands, DKNY and Donna Karan New York.”

“We are immensely proud to be collaborating with G-III and DKNY, one of the most admired American fashion brands in the world,” commented Marchon Eyewear President and CEO Nicola Zotta. “We look forward to crafting unique eyewear collections which exemplify DKNY's iconic style, as well as to be a part of the brand's growth and continued legacy of success.”

The eyewear lines will be available at DKNY retail locations and online on the brand’s e-commerce platform, as well as at selected department stores, specialty stores and premium sun and optical retailers.
