After staging multiple pop-up stores in Soho, Fendi is opening a permanent location in the Manhattan neighborhood. The new 5,700-square-foot store is located on Greene Street, counting the likes of Louis Vuitton and Jimmy Choo among its neighbors.

The Soho store will carry both Fendi’s men’s and women’s lines, with a whole floor dedicated to menswear. Similar to the Italian brand’s flagship stores in Paris and Milan, the new Manhattan location includes a gold-spiked wall to display handbags. This is the second New York City store for Fendi, which also operates a flagship location on Madison Avenue.

Further building its presence in the US, Fendi has also opened its first stores in Dallas and San Francisco.

Fendi was founded in Rome in 1925 and is currently headed by Karl Lagerfeld. Carla Fendi, daughter of the brand’s original founders and one of the five sisters who expanded the business and hired Lagerfeld, passed away last month at the age of 79. The brand was acquired by the LVMH group in 2001.
