Clothing brand Fat Face has opened a 2,050-square-foot store in Orchard Centre in Didcot, where a £50 million expansion has also allowed the arrival of River Island, H&M and TK Maxx.

Fat Face follows the launch of a 1,835-square-foot Soletrader at the shopping centre last month. Fat Face will stock its full range of clothing and accessories, while the designer shoe retailer will offer labels including Paul Smith, Nike, Adidas and Vans.

The signings will further boost the centre’s credentials following the opening of its new 95,000-square-footextension. The works were carried out as part of a wider transformation to develop Didcot town centre into a garden town and deliver 15,000 new homes and 20,000 new jobs over the next 20 years.

Andrew Berger-North, UK director of retail parks at Hammerson, said: “We are delighted to have secured Fat Face as part of the Orchard Centre expansion. The brand is a great addition to our existing line-up and complements other fashion favourites including H&M, River Island, Next and TK Maxx.

“Didcot’s reputation as a retail and leisure destination continues to grow and with new signings such as this, its position in the region is only set to strengthen.”

Bill Service, member for Didcot Garden Town at South Oxfordshire District Council added: “Having another new store in town is great news and we welcome Fat Face to Didcot. This not only creates new job opportunities but provides people with more retail choice in their local area rather than having to travel elsewhere.”
