Carnaby, the London street that became iconic as the epicentre for Swinging London in the 1960's and remains a popular shopping area, has teamed up with second year fashion and design students from Westminster Kingsway College to launch a limited edition Carnaby tote bag.

Westminster Kingsway College is one of central London's largest and has about 14,000 students across all age ranges. Carnaby asked the students to create a bag that would capture the essence and personality of Carnaby.

The winning bag was created by fashion student Shaniqua Christian and was inspired by her time spent in Carnaby. It will be produced in a limited edition of 2,000 and be available in a number of participating Carnaby Street stores - including Dr Martens, Benefit, AQ/AQ Woman, Lyle & Scott, and new stores David Naman, SuperTrash and Cubitts. The tote bag is free with purchase when you quote #Carnaby.

Emma Steele, PR, Marketing and Retail Co-ordinator of Shaftesbury PLC, where the 13 streets of Carnaby is one of the destinations in their portfolio said: "Shaftesbury have been delighted to work alongside Westminster Kingsway College. The work produced by the students has been of a very high standard and it's been fantastic to see such enthusiasm in the students and a true understanding of Carnaby as a unique and iconic shopping and dining destination."
