Once more Emporio Armani is using music as the medium for energising its brand image with young consumers. In 2015 it launched Emporio Armani Sounds, a music app in partnership with Swedish streaming service Spotify, and now the Italian fashion label's second line is about to hit the airwaves with Automat Radio, its own independent, travelling web radio.

Emporio Armani's web radio is about to start broadcasting - automatradio.com

The Automat Radio format, "powered by Emporio Armani", is produced in collaboration with Elita, an Italian entertainment company specialised in tailor-made artistic and cultural initiatives featuring music, photography, film-making and social media platforms. Among its clients, brands of the calibre of Nike, Ray-Ban and Diesel.

Automat Radio will travel on a truck fitted with a vending machine selling exclusive Emporio Armani tee-shirts and other products, as well as drinks and snacks, and with cameras to broadcast live radio performances on the automatradio.com website.

The idea is for the Automat Radio truck to "travel from one destination to another in hotspot locations in Italy's and Europe's major cities, where it can cross paths with artists, DJs, designers and other international guests," said the label in a press release.

The first stage is Milan for the Furniture Show. From Wednesday 5th April Automat Radio will invade the neighbourhoods and streets most actively involved in Milan's renowned furniture and design week, from the Navigli area to the Triennale, Lambrate and the via Tortona district, not far from Armani's headquarters.

Automat Radio's tour will reach other Italian festival destinations in the summer, and continue on to Barcelona, Berlin, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Ibiza, Paris and London, for the grand finale at the womenswear Fashion Week in September.

Besides launching Automat Radio, Giorgio Armani will exploit the Furniture Show synergy to inaugurate its new Armani/Casa store at Corso Venezia 14, Milan. The 1,300 m² store, with 16 shop windows, will be home to the world's largest collection of Armani furniture and home decoration products.
