Emanuel Ungaro has decided not to show at the Paris womenswear Fashion Week, due to start next week in the French capital. The luxury label, owned since 2005 by Aimz Acquisition, the investment fund of Pakistani-American businessman Asim Abdullah, told FashionNetwork that "it will not able to produce its Autumn/Winter 2017-18 collection because its manufacturer has gone into receivership (as anticipated on FashionNetwork's Premium newsletter).

In 2015 Emanuel Ungaro, whose women's collection is designed by Sicilian stylist Fausto Puglisi, had changed its manufacturing partner, moving from Italian group Aeffe to another Italian company, Modalis, formerly known as Studio Roscini.

Modalis also held the production and distribution licence for the John Galliano label, and the latter too has now terminated its contract with the manufacturer.

As John Galliano did, Emanuel Ungaro has taken back control of production, resorting to another Italian manufacturer. The fashion label has confirmed it will show once again in Paris next June with its cruise collection.
