E-commerce platform Shopware to open London office

Shopware, a leading e-commerce platform whose clients include L’Oreal and Ben Sherman, is planning to open a dedicated London office to pursue new opportunities with UK brands.

After becoming the largest e-commerce platform operating in Germany, enabling more than £5bn in gross e-commerce volume and securing major clients such as Haribo, Mercedes-Benz Museum and Karstadt Sports, Shopware has set its sights on the UK market – where it has experienced a 500% growth rate over the past 18 months.

The new office comes almost two years after the company’s UK launch, and builds on an ongoing collaboration between the Shopware team and a group of brands and partner agencies to adapt its software for local requirements.

The ultimate aim is to become the UK’s leading e-commerce platform.

“The past 18 months have proven that the UK is one of our most important markets,” said Stefan Heyne, CEO of Shopware. “This has been illustrated through an increased demand for Shopware’s solutions, resulting in a requirement for permanent premises in the UK.”

The new office is due to open in August in London.
