Arcadia Group has agreed to a giant Topshop and Topman flagship in the Jervis Shopping Centre in Dublin. The 20,000 sq ft store is being seen as a major win for the Irish capital and for Jervis.

The store, which will cover the ground and first floors, replaces five existing Arcadia stores (Wallis, Miss Selfridge, Burton, Topman and Topshop) and will be ready next summer. It will be the first flagship Arcadia has opened for several years and will be based on the firm’s global flagship at Oxford Circus in London.

Describing the news as “a major retail coup for Dublin,” letting agent Savills said the new store is also expected to be a benchmark for Topshop and Topman brand stores in Ireland.

Savills said the fashion retailer, which is paying €1.25m in rent for the space, is expected to be a major draw for the mall. With the new store also freeing up space for another two shops, the agent expects the brand’s presence to help it attract strong neighbouring retailers.

The 20-year-old Jervis mall is a key shopping destination for Dublin with 60 stores. It houses a number of big-name UK, European and US fashion chains, including Stradivarius, Bershka, Forever 21 and New Look. The work for Arcadia will be the first major change in its two-decade history.
