Market Tech Holdings, the owner and operator of Camden Market, said the company will rent the market’s listed Tack Building in the Stables Market for its new concept store. And it will consolidate its European HQ in a building in Camden Wharf after signing a 10-year lease.

The company currently has three offices in Camden and will also move its London showroom to the new location that covers over 23,000 sq ft across two floors.

The new Dr Martens brand store will open in the newly-restored Tack Building and the firm said it will be one of its most innovative stores to date, and feature a number of firsts. Created in partnership with another British brand, the music amplification specialists Marshall, the store will include a music space with a curated programme of events, as well as Dr Martens’ first permanent in-store footwear customisation area.

In addition, an on-site Heritage Centre is planned which will feature a unique virtual reality experience together with memorabilia from both Dr Martens and the music legends and celebrities who have worn the footwear over the years.

Airwair CEO Steve Murray said relocating the European HQ to Camden Wharf “allows us to get all our functional teams under one roof in an area long associated with the Dr Martens brand.”
