Designers' Nest to open Copenhagen Fashion Week

The upcoming edition of Copenhagen Fashion Week, on August 10-12, will open with Designers' Nest, the Nordic fashion design contest.

Founder Jan Busch Carlsen said: "We have been working to get the Designers' Nest show earlier on the schedule of Copenhagen Fashion Week for a long time, to assure the designers as much attention from the press and buyers, who are in town, as possible. Usually, many of these have already left Copenhagen on Friday afternoon, where the show until now has been held. The fact that Designers' Nest will be the first show on the calendar is more than we have ever dared to dream of, and it's a clear signal from Copenhagen Fashion Week about the importance of supporting the new generation of design talents – the designers, who will represent the strong Nordic design heritage of tomorrow. Naturally we are very grateful for their support."

The Designer's Nest Award was created to reward a particularly skilled and promising design-student with an accolade from the established world of fashion and design. The winner of the Designers’ Nest Award will receive a cash prize of 50.000,00 DKK.

Designers' Nest has also released the names of the jury members, five international fashion profiles:

* Marisole Pastori - Head of the "Wearables" section on EyesOnTalents.com
* Alice Pfeiffer, Fashion Journalist, Le Monde
* Anders Sølvsteen Thomsen, Int. Fashion Stylist & Creative Consultant
* Mr. Hitoshi Tajima - President of UEDA College of Fashion, Japan

The show takes place on Wednesday August 10th at 1pm at Børsen / The Old Stock Exchange.
