Designer Parfums adds Cerruti 1881 to line-up

UK-based Designer Parfums has acquired the fragrance license of the Cerruti 1881 brand to add to its portfolio of prestige fragrance brands, which also includes Jean Patou, Aigner Parfums and Ghost.

Created in 1967 by Nino Cerruti as an extension of his family business House of Cerruti, Cerruti 1881 launched its first fragrance in 1990. Since then, the brand has had many successful fragrance releases for both men and women.

“The Cerruti 1881 brand was founded in 1967 by Nino Cerruti in Paris and is known the world over for the quality of its products in the world of fashion, accessories and fragrance. Our goal is to build on its strong heritage as we develop the brand for future growth,” says Dilesh Mehta, CEO and chairman of Designer Perfums.

Laurent Grosgogeat, Cerruti 1881 executive vice president, adds: "Cerruti scents have always been a major category for Nino Cerruti, opening the way for hugely successful fragrances in the past 40 years. In partnership with Designer Parfums, we look forward to continuing to build on Cerruti' s strong legacy as a leading lifestyle brand."

Cerruti 1881 has been owned by Hong Kong-based Trinity Limited group since 2011, and counts with Jason Basmajian as its chief creative officer. It celebrated its 50th anniversary last year.
