Odense's Rosengådcentre, the second largest shopping centre in Denmark, unveiled its new mall area on Friday.

The new area covers approximately 110,000 ft² along the newly created “Purple Street” and features 20 new stores. Among them is Zara, with its third shop in Denmark at the centre.

More than €21.5m is being invested in the centre by ECE European Prime Shopping Centre Fund and ATP Real Estate. The money will be used to refurbish the mall, which opened in 1971 and has more than 7.5m visitors every year.

Anker Boye, Mayor of Odense, said: “For Odense and the region the successful refurbishment of Rosengårdcentret is a real asset. We are happy that ECE and ATP Real Estate are making big investments in the development of the center.”

Dr. Volker Kraft, Managing Partner of ECE Real Estate Partners, commented: “Together with our co-investor ATP Real Estate we are happy to present today the optimized concept of Rosengårdcentret with the new anchor tenant Zara. This represents a further contribution to our value enhancement strategy for the shopping center.”
