Daniel Won Collection innovates leather ready-to-wear leather

In 2013, American designer Daniel Won, whose specialty has always been leather, left his position as design director at Emanuel Ungaro, whose license is owned by New York-based Harbour International LLC, which distributes the brand in North and South America.

In 2013, Won launched his own brand, Daniel Won Collection, and released his first leather jackets for winter 2014 via the Neiman Marcus chain. Stylistically innovative, featuring trendy sportswear, leather jackets and perfectos with removable sleeves, the collection also features classic ready-to-wear pieces including cardigans and sweatshirts.

Known for his application of laser etching and laser perforation techniques on leather, the designer has become the darling of American stars such as Usher, Jay Z, and P. Diddy, aka Sean John, who have worn his camouflage leather pieces, not to mention basketball players Steve Francis and Dwyane Wade.

Distributed in a dozen stores in the United States including Gregorys, Neiman Marcus and Nojo Kicks in Detroit, and manufactured partly in Turkey and China, brand Daniel Won Collection exhibited for the first time at Tranoï to present its winter 2015 collection and to make headway on the European and Asian markets.

Ranging from $495-2,000, the fashion-oriented apparel from the Daniel Won Collection targets a young audience, from 25-35 years old.
