Cushnie et Ochs and Bandier launch first activewear collaboration

Published

Cushnie et Ochs and Bandier on Wednesday launched a capsule collection of designer activewear. The collaboration marks Cushnie et Ochs’ first venture into fitness apparel.

The Bandier, Cushnie et Ochs activewear collection

The 10-piece collection consists of leggings, bra tops, tank tops, a track pant and a jacket that feature luxurious eight-way stretch fabric. Cushnie et Ochs co-founders Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs’ passion for staying fit and healthy inspired the collaboration.

“We were inspired to create the activewear version of our little black dresses and to highlight and define the female body through our signature cuts and sculptural lines,” said Cushnie. We introduced techniques, such as double facing, which we’ve never seen before in active apparel construction. Innovative laser cutting technology replicates the strategic cut-outs seen in our ready-to-wear collection. Bandier’s deep knowledge and insight into the active-fashion retail space, the needs of active apparel consumers, and the latest market trends provided invaluable support throughout the design process.”

The New York City-based brand is known for its bodycon silhouettes, which translated perfectly to Bandier’s luxury active apparel. Since opening in May 2014, Bandier has developed a reputation for fashion-forward performance and technical apparel that celebrate the intersection of fashion, fitness and music. The New York City-based company operates five US boutiques in New York and Dallas and a global e-commerce store.

"The realization that prompted this collaboration is that both Bandier and Cushnie et Ochs are dressing the same woman — a woman who now demands much more from her wardrobe,” said Bandier founder Jennifer Bandier. “Carly and Michelle, with their exceptional grasp of the female form, are the perfect partners to help move activewear into the fashion world.”

Prior to the activewear collaboration, Cushnie et Ochs partnered with Pamela Love on a jewelry collection for its pre-fall collection. The capsule is available for pre-order through July 15.

The Bandier, Cushnie et Ochs collection is available now at Bandier stores and the Bandier website.
