Crocs unveils 'Come As You Are' ad campaign starring Drew Barrymore

Last December Crocs revealed Drew Barrymore as one of its new brand ambassadors, and now the footwear label has unveiled the first pics from the 'Come As You Are' advertising campaign starring the American actress.

The new campaign zeroes in on the importance of every person's individual character and identity, encouraging consumers to feel comfortable wearing Crocs footwear. To broadcast the #ComeAsYouAre message, Crocs has tapped a brand-ambassador quartet featuring actress Drew Barrymore, WWE wrestler John Cena, South Korean pop singer Yoona and rapper-actor Henry Lau.

In the first images posted by the brand, the four are extremely at ease posing in their Crocs footwear, with brightly coloured backdrops lending the campaign a relaxed yet buoyant mood.

With the campaign, Crocs intends to encourage its audience to share what makes them unique, and the theme is deployed not just on posters but also, since March, on social media, via an array of influencers.

"Crocs has always stuck to its identity: optimistic, versatile, comfortable and always ready to play by new rules. 'Come As You Are' encourages people to share their uniqueness, kindness and generosity, something that is so important in our society today," said Terence Reilly, the brand's Marketing Director.

Consumers of course are free to join in this international campaign via the 'Be Yourselfie' Gif generator at yourselfie.crocs.com, where they can download the Gif and shoot their selfies. After answering five questions, they can then enjoy their very own 'Be Yourselfie' Gif.

For the second consecutive year Crocs has posted a decrease in revenue. The footwear brand lost 4.7 % in 2016, down to nearly €990 million ($1.036 billion).
