The partnership follows the December launch of the Glitter_Gutter collection, a set of shiny styles in bold metallic and colour-blocked glitter.

Both capsules were featured in J.W. Anderson’s SS18 collection, presented at Pitti Uomo in June last year.

The second drop, launching next month, sees the Northern Irish designer J.W. Anderson continue his exploration of the classic Converse high-tops and the Thunderbolt style in suede and denim iterations.

Drawing from his ability to deconstruct and reinterpret traditional silhouettes, the Simply_Complex capsule comes with an asymmetrical design approach.

The Chuck 70, Converse’s most popular style, has been recreated with formalwear elements such as serrated edging and micro-eyelets. Inspired by the traditional brown menswear shoe, the Chuck 70 styles feature a suede outer and leather on the inside of the sneaker.

“We approached it as a sneaker first but introduced detailed elements and the suede execution that make it a sort of curious version of Chuck, ultimately constructing the silhouette as a statement shoe,” commented the designer.

Meanwhile, the Denim Thunderbolt is created with three different executions of raw indigo denim. Suede is also featured on the Suede Thunderbolt, with a goat leather lining and goat leather sock lining.

The collection will launch on 2 March in J.W. Anderson stores worldwide and online.
