Comme des Garҫons creates new brand “CDG”, limited items released ahead of July launch

Comme des Garҫons has created a new brand, “CDG”, which will officially launch in Dover Street Market, in stores, and on a dedicated e-commerce site this July, according to Japanese media reports. Limited items from the brand are also launching ahead of time.

The new brand launched at the Comme des Garҫons store in Ginza, Tokyo, with a Golden Week campaign called “CDG Breaking News” which was unveiled in April 27. The limited collection of early release items for the new brand include a coach jacket (15,000 Japanese yen), a PVC bag (6,000 yen), a parka (15,000 yen), a printed t-shirt (10,000 yen), and sneakers (14,000 yen, before tax).

The CDG brand takes the Comme des Garҫons symbol and logo that has been used for 40 years as the basis of the label and its garments.

The CDG brand has a cheaper price point than the main line and focuses on logo-based casual wear. The brand’s e-commerce site has not yet opened but allows potential customers to sign up to a waiting list.
