Coach confirms move into Jaeger’s Regent Street store

The US luxury handbag retailer is relocating its Regent Street store to Jaeger’s current flagship site, which is located two doors up at 200-206 Regent Street. The two companies plus the Crown Estate announced on Saturday they have come to an agreement to sell the lease, finalising Jaeger’s 80 year residency at the site.

The 27,500 square metre space will also incorporate a Stuart Weitzman boutique – the first of the shoemaker on London’s Regent Street – and is scheduled to open in autumn 2016.

Victor Luis, Chief Executive Office of Coach, said, “We are delighted to bring Coach and Stuart Weitzman together at this iconic location, while maintaining their unique identities with individual stores and spaces for each brand.”

The handbag brand, which acquired Stuart Weitzman in January this year, is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2016.

According to various media reports, British brand Jaeger had said its Regent Street store is “too big” and had talked about plans to relocate to a smaller location.
