The Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Masculine, the governing body of men’s fashion in France, has elected OAMC and Rochas as new members, while also re-electing Sidney Toledano of Christian Dior as its president.

The approval of OAMC and Rochas as its latest members brings to 37 the number of member houses within the Chambre’s menswear division.

OAMC is the critically acclaimed brand launched by Luke Meier in 2012. A former designer at Supreme, Meier is noted for his blend of functionality, working class aesthetics and hybrid fabrics. Earlier this month, Luke and his Swiss wife, Lucie, were named creative directors of Jil Sander – marking the latest step in the already impressive career of this Canadian designer. OAMC has staged runway shows for the past several years on the Friday evening of the Paris season. The next French menswear season runs from Wednesday June 21 to Sunday June 25.

Rochas, which was founded in 1925 as a couture house by Marcel Rochas, has not staged a men's runway show in several decades. Italian Alessando Dell’Acqua is the current women’s creative director of Rochas, which is owned by perfume and beauty group Interparfums. However, its menswear designer is Béatrice Ferrant, who staged her debut collection for Rochas with a presentation in January, showing streaked mohair redingotes, couture-like embossed leather pants and crisscrossed cable sweaters.

The new members were approved during the Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Masculine General Assembly, which also elected its Management Board. Re-electing Sidney Toledano, CEO of Christian Dior Couture, as President and choosing Isabel Ribeiro of Paul Smith, as Vice-President of the Chambre Syndicale.
