Centre for Fashion Enterprise announces next FashTech Pioneers
Jun 12, 2018
London College of Fashion and the Centre for Fashion Enterprise have welcomed six new innovative start-ups to their Fashion Tech Pioneer Programme, which offers mentorship, tailored business support and investment opportunities to visionary businesses.
The six innovators will go through the rigorous and all-immersive six-month programme at the CFE hub in Hackney, receiving advice in areas such as growth strategy, finance, branding, storytelling and digital.
They include LDC which creates short term concept stores for 1-2 weeks at a time anywhere in London; Riina O, a brand of luxurious hand-crafted leather gloves that merge traditional handcraftsmanship with modern technology; and Weavenote, an online platform providing tools for fashion brands and manufacturers to work more closely together.
Kiren Passi, a luxury fashion label combining 3D moulded silicone bonding with natural fabrics and digital stitiching; Seekers of Design, a B2C marketplace hosting independent art, homeware and fashion designers; and Sewport, an online sourcing and production solution, complete the line-up.
"We’re excited to gain access to CFE’s prestigious network and work with highly esteemed mentors," says Rebecca Morter of London Designers Collective (LDC), one of the selected businesses.
The programme has previously supported Save Your Wardrobe, a wardrobe management app that has secured funding to hire three new staff and will launch its new app in beta next month. The project addresses the ‘fast fashion’ throwaway culture by reconnecting consumers to their own wardrobes through Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things.
