Capsule and Liberty Fairs move to Javits Center for summer show

Capsule is on the move again, and this time Liberty Fairs is moving with it. The trade shows recently announced that they will hold their respective summer New York City menswear shows at Jacob Javits Convention Center from July 17 through 19, after holding a partnered show at Pier 94 in February.

The move to the Javits Center is a first for the two boutique trade shows. Capsule and Liberty first shared Pier 94 in February, and Capsule moved its show from Basketball City to Pier 92 in January 2016 to make show attendance easier for buyers and press.

The Javits Center will also house UBM’s men’s shows, Project and MRket, from July 16 through 18, making this season a much simpler show experience for attendees.

“Co-locating with Liberty has been great for the market,” said Deirdre Maloney, co-founder of Capsule. “But this summer, with our shows and the UBM shows all at Javits, we expect buyers will be in paradise.”

The “paradise” will be temporary, however, because Capsule and Liberty Fairs will return to Pier 94 for their winter shows.
