Gresty replaces Willie Walters, who was the course leader for 24 years. “Central Saint Martins is delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Gresty as our new BA Fashion Course Leader.  Building on the successes of the BA Fashion course under Willie Walter’s directorship of 24 years, we know that Sarah will ensure that the course continues to provide the highest quality of fashion design education producing innovative and responsible fashion designers who will predict and meet the opportunities and challenges of the future of the global fashion industry, “ said Anne Smith, Dean of Academic Programmes at CSM.

Gresty has a background well suitable for the role - she trained as a designer at Brighton College of Art, and started teaching at Central Saint Martins as an Associate Lecturer in 1998. In September 2006, she became a Pathway Leader of Fashion Design with Knitwear at CSM.

Among her graduates are Molly Goddard, Phoebe English, Craig Lawrence and Matty Bovan, who just became a part of the Fashion East line-up.

“I am extremely excited to be taking over from Willie Walters as BA Fashion Course Leader at Central Saint Martins. Willie has established and sustained an amazingly successful course attracting remarkably talented and vibrant students from all over the world and has built a committed team of staff.  I look forward to meeting the challenges that the future may bring while upholding the excellent traditions of the course,” said Sarah Gresty.
