A car destroyed the front windows of a Chanel store on 278-280 Brompton Road on Sunday night in what is believed to be a smash-and-grab burglary.

The raid was confirmed by Metropolitan Police, who told the newspaper Getwestlondon: "Police in Chelsea and Kensington are investigating a burglary at a business premises on Brompton Road, at approximately 03:40hrs on 25 January. A car was reported to have driven into a window at the front of the store allowing the suspects to gain entry."

Although the value of the stolen goods couldn't be confirmed, a majority of the handbags on display where reportedly taken from the store.

Brompton Road in Knightsbridge is home to several high-end shops, including Prada, Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Hermes. The burglary was reported first by actress Lindsay Lohan, who published a photo of the smashed windows blocked with white and red tape on Instagram.
