British brands do well at 2015 World Retail Awards

This year's edition of the World Retail Awards, which celebrates excellence across the retail industry, was dominated by British brands.


UK high street value retailer Primark took home the prize for Retail Transformation & Reinvention (sponsored by Boston Consulting Group), and the company's CEO, Paul Marchant, won the Outstanding Leadership Award (sponsored by Korn Ferry).

London's Hamley's was awarded Store Design of the Year for its Moscow shop by Fitch, while UK retail giant M&S' "For Every Milestone" was named Retail Advertising Campaign of the Year (sponsored by Mall of Qatar).

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba was named Retailer of the Year, (sponsored by IBM), while China's JD.com took home the e-commerce retailer of the year prize.

Nitin Passi, the founder & CEO of British e-tailer Missguided.com, was given the Young Retail Entrepreneur of the Year award (sponsored by MasterCard). The Lifetime Achievement Award for Design and Retail was given to Alberto Alessi and accepted by Matteo Alessi.

The winners were given the Reutpala award designed by Gregory Polletta.
