The U.S. bridal chain store Alred Angelo abruptly closed all of its locations, leaving brides with pending dress orders wondering what would happen to their gowns or if they would get their money back. The brand operated more than 60 stores across the U.S.

Alfred Angelo employees were notified Thursday morning that all stores would be closing permanently. Many customers showed up to store locations on Friday to find signs saying the stores were closed. Brides have since taken to social media expressing concerns over the state of their pending dress orders with no information from the company on the state of their purchases.

The closures were a result of the Alfred Angelo’s bankruptcy, with the company filing for bankruptcy in a Florida federal court on Friday. According to the filings, the company is under no obligation to fulfill its orders to customers.

Fellow bridal chain and competitor to Alfred Angelo David’s Bridal announced on its website that it would offer a 30 percent discount on wedding dresses and 20 percent discount on bridesmaid dresses to customers with an Alfred Angelo receipt. The company is also offering to waive rush fees to those affected by the Alfred Angelo closure, and alterations services will be available to those with purchased dresses from Alfred Angelo.

Alfred Angelo and his wife Edythe Piccione founded the company in 1933 in Philadelphia. It is now based in Florida with its gowns sold in more than 1,400 stores across the country. The company is one of many clothing retailers across the U.S. to face bankruptcy and store closures in recent months.
