Bread&Butter unveils exhibition halls for Barcelona

Published

Last night, Bread&Butter handed out a newspaper to its guests. Entitled “Breaking News”, it came in four sections: one about the concept International Season Kick Off, one about Barcelona, one about Berlin and finally one focused on Seoul.

The information about Barcelona seems the clearest. The dates have been set: January 8 to 10. And Fira’s 1 million square-foot floor plan has been disclosed. Immediately noticeable is that there will once more be space set aside Denim. No fewer than 200,000 square feet will be allocated to Denim & Contemporary Urban Wear. Also back is Sport & Street, which along with LOCK, will have 165,000 square feet.

On the plan for the exhibition grounds, an Italian pavilion dedicated to fashion shows has appeared. Other halls will include Young Fashion (170,000 square feet), Superior Women/Women & Menswear/Design & Agents/Accessories & Gadgets (four spaces covering 230,000 square feet), and the famous Luna Park. A hall for upcoming designers will also be added.

“Denim brands will come back,” "It was move or die,” “Small retailers will come to Barcelona,” “Changing it up between the North and the South is cool", "The bulk of business is still in Germany, Scandinavia...".... Those are the snippets of conversation that could be heard between the flurries of goals by the German team at the World Cup on Tuesday evening. Suffice to say that many exhibitors will be keeping tabs on their teams.
