L'Occitane International has reported a non-consolidated turnover of just over 1 billion euros for the first nine months of 2017/2018 ending September 30, slipping 0.6% compared to the same period in the previous year. A slight decrease which can be explained, in part, by unfavorable exchange rates, as sales rose by 3% in constant currencies.

The cosmetics group, which is listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and owns a portfolio of brands including L'Occitane en Provence and Melvita, is still focused on the Chinese and Brazilian markets, where sales rose by 23.4% and 12.5%, respectively. In China sales have reached 114 million euros, with the figure at 50 million in Brazil. During the same nine-month period, the French market experienced sales growth of 1.7%, reaching 80.7 million euros and contributing 8% to L'Occitane's overall global growth.

Over the same period, the group also reported 16 net store openings, in contrast to the 56 opened in the first nine months of 2016/2017. Among the new stores, ten were opened in Europe and South Africa, including a 280-square-meter concept opened on the Champs-Elysées in collaboration with pâtissier Pierre Hermé in December
