Amazon continues to increase its presence in the fashion industry, but the Seattle-based online retailer hasn’t abandoned its identity as a bookstore. The e-commerce company is currently expanding its number of bookstores and has its sights set on New York City.

In July 2016, Amazon was reportedly eyeing Hudson Yards for its first New York City Books location, but the company confirmed on its website that it will open at The Shops at Columbus Circle. The Wall Street Journal added that the Books location will be a 4,000-square-foot location and is slated to open this spring.

Amazon opened its first bookstore in its home city Seattle. The company considers Amazon Books to be a physical extension of its website. “Amazon Books integrates the benefits of offline and online shopping to help you find books and devices you’ll love,” said the company on its website. “We select books based on Amazon.com customer ratings, pre-orders, sales, popularity on Goodreads, and our curators’ assessments. We place books face-out on the shelves, so each can communicate its own essence.”

The e-commerce company added that customers can purchase a book or device in store, download a book for the Kindle, or add a product to your wishlist.

Amazon currently operates three Amazon Books locations in Seattle, Portland and San Diego and four locations are slated to open, in Chicago, Paramus, NJ, and Dedham and Lynnfield, MA in addition to New York City.
