Amazon Fashion is aiming to combat meanness on social media with its new campaign #SaySomethingNice, which launches on June 23.

The etailer has teamed up with European fashion influencers Susie Bubble, Samar Seraqui de Buttafoco, Hana Tajima, Masha Sedgwick, Freddie Harrel, Camille Charriere, Gala Gonzalez, and Clementine Desseaux for the campaign. The aim is to celebrate individuality and encourage people to be less judgmental of others’ style choices.

“Fashion sharing is at an all time high on social media”, said Siobhan Mallen, Content Director, Amazon Fashion Europe. “Instagram alone has more than 82 million #OOTD (outfit of the day) posts. Sadly, criticising and ridiculing people for what they wear, known as ‘outfit shaming’, is also becoming more common. 55% of women feel they have been judged before on social media about their fashion choices.”

In a video, the style influencers talk about criticism that has been directed at them and how they have judged others, and pledge to instead #SaySomethingNice.

it seems there is a prevailing mood for compassion and understanding at the moment - the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, recently announced that adverts that are likely to cause people to have "body confidence issues" will be banned from London's public transport network from next month.
