Adidas investing in Bucketfeet

Adidas is taking a step towards being more innovative by investing in a trendy sneakers brand. At least that's what the German business magazine, Wirtschaftswoche, has reported. The kit supplier, which is flailing behind Nike, has apparently invested in Bucketfeet through its investment and development firm, Hydra Ventures. Gordon Segal, founder of Crate & Barrell, is also said to have invested in the young brand.

Created in 2011 in Chicago, Bucketfeet offers rather classic sneakers in terms of shape, but considers the canvas material as actual canvas for artists. Thus, designers, graphic designers, tattoo artists, musicians and many others have all designed unique models. 4,000 artists from 60 countries have already participated in the adventure.

The brand has two stores (Chicago and New York) but also works around the world with several multibrands, including Nordstrom in the United States and Zalando in England.
