Adidas brings in global talent to boost India operations

German sportswear maker Adidas has made several changes to its leadership team in India and appointed leaders from its global talent pool to boost operations in the country, according to a report in Times of India.

Adidas has brought in Sean Van Wyk from Adidas South Africa, who will take charge as senior marketing director of the Adidas brand in India. He will be replacing Damyant Singh Khanoria, who has joined iPhone maker Apple as marketing and communications lead.

"South Africa and India have many similarities in terms of the sportswear market," said Dave Thomas, MD of Adidas Group India. "Running, athleisure and football are growing categories here and Sean with his strong domain knowledge of the same can bolster these segments,” he added.

Adidas has also brought in Abhishek Lal, senior director e-commerce from Dubai, Manish Sapra, senior director retail from Malaysia and Silvia Tallon, senior director marketing of Reebok from Spain to strengthen the company’s market position in India.
