The CEI rated 1,027 businesses on LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBT community. The HRC found that Abercrombie offers a number of programs that satisfy every criterion of the Index, and that is has earned the designation of Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.

"In this 2016 Corporate Equality Index, hundreds of major businesses responded to our new standards for workplace equality with exceptional leadership. Abercrombie & Fitch Co. not only meets these standards, it goes above and beyond the call of duty, making commitment to equality a fundamental aspect of its corporate values," said Deena Fidas, HRC Foundation Workplace Equality Program Director.

The CEI has served as the HRC’s annual scorecard and benchmarking survey on LGBT workplace equality. Abercrombie has achieved the top rating since 2006.
