A.P.C. launches Vanessa Seward label

Published
May 19, 2014

Vanessa Seward is getting her own eponymous label. And to do this, the former creative director of Azzaro from 2002 to 2011 has found herself an ally in A.P.C. Since 2012, the Parisian brand has been commissioning her to do several capsules collections. It seems as if the joint effort has been a positive one. The company’s founder Jean Touitou is now taking the collaboration to the next level, with A.P.C. essentially financing the Vanessa Seward label and providing logistical support.

The new brand will debut on the catwalk with its first collection for autumn-winter 2015/16 during Paris Fashion Week in February 2015. The idea is to offer a women's apparel and accessories line that is about "sensible luxury," in the words of Jean Touitou, with both timeless pieces at the entry level but also exceptional designs.

The Paris-based Argentinean designer also spent time at Yves Saint Laurent and has for a long time been tempted to launch her own brand. She was eventually persuaded by the opportunity to rely on "A.P.C.'s expertise" and the "support of Jean Touitou."

In addition to wholesale distribution and department stores, the company is also planning a network of freestanding stores for the brand. The first openings are also expected to coincide with the launch of the first collection the latter half of 2015.
